How-to Install Pigtails and Tread-Ins

Here is a helpful tip when it comes to installing either the Pigtail or the Sentinel Tread-in post in hard ground to avoid damaging the pegs.

Use a cordless drill and find a 1/4" or slightly bigger 14" long masonry bit to drill a hole in the ground about 6" deep for the peg to fit in. This makes it much easier than trying to force the product into the ground and it saves the product from damage.

A small pilot hole driver will work just as well if you are needing to install a hundred or more at a time. Both the drill or the pilot hole driver work very well for installing fiberglass posts when constructing permanent fence as well. The hole is straight and allows for the fence to be directly in line as well.
